All-Programme Internship General Update

This month we all reunited in North Wales in September for our halfway presentations. It was great to catch up with all the other interns and meet the project partners from each internship region. We visited the Morlais Tidal Stream project on Anglesey, had a tour of the oyster hatchery at Bangor University’s Ocean sciences lab, and then went to M-Sparc to deliver our presentations. Each internship has been doing some really important work for their main projects, and it was amazing to see the effort and ideas that have gone into each project. Thank you to everyone involved in the North Wales internship for being brilliant hosts!

Back in our internship regions, we have been attending and running a variety of engagement events, surveys, and enjoying being out in the field – it's really improving our practical skills! The Northwest and Northeast interns reunited in Hartlepool for a tour of Orsted’s Artificial Nesting Structure which was useful research for the main projects, which everyone has been working a lot on this month. We’re all feeling very busy and grateful for the opportunities and skills that this internship provides for us. We’re all excited to go to London in October for another visit to The Crown Estate offices!
