OWEKH
Project Overview:

OWEKH: Offshore Wind Evidence and Knowledge Hub
Status: Active
Start Date: June 2022
Lead Organisation: Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP - formerly known as IEMA)
The Offshore Wind Evidence and Knowledge Hub (OWEKH) is an online portal supported by a governance structure that provides data to support offshore wind Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). EIA consider all potential impacts of a development and are crucial for obtaining planning consent for wind farms. EIAs can often be complicated and produce ample data which is rarely centrally stored for future use. OWEKH simplifies this complex process by offering open access to curated data, peer-reviewed evidence, and collaboration opportunities for developers, regulators, and marine specialists. The platform aims to centralise and streamline data usage, making it easier to accelerate future consenting processes. A Community of Practice, including experts from government, academia, and the industry, curates and interprets the information available on the hub.
